Top Ten Annoying Habits on Social Networking Sites.

Top Ten Annoying Habits on Social Networking Sites.

Friendster users be warned, the following words will be scathingly harsh. Yep, I’m referring to THAT segment of the demographic.

1. “Emo” / “Eoh powhz” shot. You know, that one shot where they shoot the 3650 camphone from above while trying to squint their eyes and angling their faces to get that distinct Lil’ Zuplado look.

2. Photos of untouched food or Starbucks drink with the user’s name (usually misspelled pa). I mean, come on, THAT was the highlight of your day?! Pity. Ako, ang highlight ng trips ko to the coffee shop or restaurant is the actual conversations I have with the people I go there with. But if that’s what gets you off, then whatever dude. Yeah, tap that.

3. Really, REALLY long “about me” entries. Because sometimes, some people aren’t satisfied with just describing what they are like with friends, family, schoolmates, and pets. They really have this insatiable need to make a list of “I am blah.” and “I hate/like people who are blah.”. Ugh.

Dude, if you’re ugly, a long explanation of your idiosyncracies will never EVER compensate for that. Kung gusto mo, gawin mo yung Habit #1, baka gumana sayo ang Lil’ Zuplado Rule.

Addenum to Habit #3: Utang na loob, stop describing yourself as “SIMPLE PERO KIKAY”. Ilang libo na kayong ganyan ang description.

4. Pimped out profile pages. The glittery graphics and the embedded mp3 players (that plays mostly rap music about getting laid and getting drunk). And the full-on wallpaper-size background graphics of — *hit-hit ng hininga* — EMO PICTURES. Thank God, Facebook didn’t let that travesty happen all over again.

5. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding. Flooding.

6. Jologs talk. +@Lking LiK3 +Hi$ i$ N0+ K3wL p0HwZZzzz. jejeje. (-\\) .\m/

Addenum to Habit #6: Trying to talk (or trying to type) like you have an accent is not cool too. No dude, not even when you’re trying to be black. Example: “hEy waSSSuppP!?”

7. Webcam shots of the same subject and same angle. You’re really asking for it when you use your webcam for an instant photo shoot. Come on. No, not even the night vision mode can make it a “creative shot”. It’s still your face, and lots of it, might I add, and the singular point-of-view. In more simpler terms: Nakakasawa tignan ang muka mo nang paulit-ulit.

8. Tweeting about every mundane thing that you’re doing every ten minutes. Unless you’ve just discovered that your freshly plucked underarm hair can cure Cancer, we couldn’t care less about the nitty-gritty details of your day-to-day life. No, not even when you’ve seen a really hot actress do an Anne Curtis at the mall. Come on dude, we’ve seen that hundreds of times already.

9. Recurrent requests and/or gifts to these applications and games. Concrete example: Yang mga putang inang pillows na yan.

10. Adding up random people for no apparent reason, other than to have as many “friends” as possible. It’s not a freaking competition for Christ’s sake. Who the hell cares if you have a gazillion friends?

Addenum to Habit #10: Creating a false profile that would indirectly help you “get more friends” who belong to a certain segment of the population. Example: a girl who lists her high school as “Ateneo de Manila High School ‘05”.

I mean, come on woman, everybody knows that that school is exclusively for boys. At least have the decency to do the research on your pseudo-school.

=====================================

The items in this top ten list are purely subjective and are based on my personal ire. The order I have placed them does not necessarily reflect the gravity of the offense.

Online Games: Dragonica

I am not really interested in playing online games :p. If I recall I started playing online games when Ragnarok Online first introduced in the Philippines. It was free back then. But when the game started having loaded cards to play, I stopped playing it. After a while a game called Gunbound was also introduce. Gunbound is a free-to-play, turn-based, room-to-room, multiplayer online game with many similar features to the popular Worms game series. I also got addicted to this game because it is free and it is very exciting to play. But I stopped playing it when i reached I think it was double gold axe level, a low level character. Honestly I get easily bored playing Muliplayer Online Games. Today I saw a new and exciting MMORPG called "Dragonica", it is a 3-D action side scrolling game.
It is a free-to-play game which includes a cash shop that allows for unique customization of player's characters. Players control a character in a three-dimensional plane but the scope of movement is mainly focused on the horizontal axis with limited vertical movement, much like the arcade style side-scrolling classics. In the next few days, I may TRY to play this one. :)

By the way I also saw a Dragonica inspired MTV. Featured on this video is the cosplay goddess of the Philippines, Alodia.

Samsung Galaxy Tab

Just found this new gadget from Samsung while boringly surfing the Internet. (ehehe)
The wide, Super VGA, 1024-by-600-pixel TFT display appeared bright and viewable at an angle. Samsung claims that its display has a better viewing angle and contrast ratio than the higher-resolution iPad screen.
It has two cameras--a rear-facing 3.2-megapixel camera and a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera--and a camcorder for video chat. In our limited environment, the back-facing camera seemed to be of passable quality.
The device has very little else on it physically, aside from volume-up and -down controls and a power button. It has a proprietary charger port; like the iPad, the Tab requires more juice than is available solely over USB. If you plug the Tab into a computer's USB port, you'll get a trickle charge, but not a full charge as you would with a phone. The 4000-mAh battery provides 7 hours of video, according to Samsung.
Inside, the Galaxy Tab has Samsung's 1GHz Hummingbird Application processor, two SIM slots, a 3G radio for data connections, Wi-Fi and DLNA support, 16GB of memory on-board, and one MicroSD slot for expanding memory to up to 32GB. The Tab runs Android 2.2, supports Adobe Flash 10.1 and Microsoft's PlayReady DRM, and features a tablet-optimized version of TouchWiz 3.0, the Samsung interface found on the company's Galaxy S smartphones.

Resident Evil Afterlife

Last Sunday, Geno, Joan, Fred, Joey and I watched this movie. If you are a fan/watched the trilogy or the game, you shall not be disappointed. This movie completely lives up to it's expectations. I don't think 3D was necessary but still it was a great add on. They introduced a new star cast who were familiar from TV show(Prison break) and they also did a great job :p. Milla Jovovich yet again surprises us with her charismatic hardcore action. Ali Larter as "Claire" also had a major role and she also kicked butt! And of course if you like Zombies, this one has more than the previous parts(I am also thinking of HS of the Dead while watching this movie :p). The soundtracks of the movie were breath-taking. Also don't go out of theaters right after the credits, stay for few minutes and see a MAJOR clue(i did not see this one :-(, just heard from other colleagues) And yes believe me there will be a next one! Cant wait for the next installment...

Stereogram

Lately, we have been addicted in looking and finding images out of a stereogram, A stereogram is an optical illusion of depth created from flat, two-dimensional image or images. In the office, while we are on our idle times, all of my teammates, including me, are busy staring at stereograms. We enjoy looking at the hidden images that will come up in 3D forms out of this images. It is very difficult for some to actually see the hidden image, you need to have focus and determination to actually see those. :D

Here is an example of a stereogram:

On this image you will see an infinity sign on the middle.

Despicable Me

Last Saturday, Hernan, Mitch, and I went to Shang-ri La mall to watch "Despicable Me". Shang-ri La cinema is a great place to watch, they have very good 3D glasses.:D

The movie is great and awesome, we were laughing the whole time. The story is very original and it is about becoming the number one villain. What makes it wonderful is that you will find yourself rooting to one of the villains in the movie(which is Gru). This is a story of a supervillain named Gru who plans to use three orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme and infiltrate his enemy "Vector", only to find that their innocent love is profoundly changing him.

I really like the minions of Gru, they are very cute and funny and they greatly contributed on the hilarious parts of the movie. :D They made very good use of the 3D graphics,
there is a roller coaster ride scene that will literally "tickle your tummy" and also the reaching contest of the minions during the credits part is a fun use of 3-D that had the you/kids in the theater reaching for the screen. :D

All in all, the movie is hilariously awesome and is recommended to watch by everyone. 5 stars for me. ;)

Movies Galore..

For the past few weeks, my colleagues and I were watching every movie that would catch our interest. We started out by watching the movie "How to train your dragon", this is actually my first time watching a movie in 3D. The movie is very good, it is actually one of my favorite CG movie. The story is about a young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons, but instead of hunting them he became a friend of one the most feared dragon and this lead him to learn that there be more to the creatures than they assumed. Recommended on all ages. :)

The next movie we watched was "Shrek Forever After", another very good CG movie,

this will be the last of the "Shrek" series. The story is about a bored and domesticated Shrek who pacts with deal-maker Rumpelstiltskin to get back to feeling like a real ogre again, but when he's duped and sent to a twisted version of Far Far Away -- where Rumpelstiltskin is king, ogres are hunted, and he and Fiona have never met -- he sets out to restore his world and reclaim his true love. If you loved the first three series, then you will definitely love this one too.

After that we watched "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time", base from the computer game of the same title.

This is about a boy who was adopted from the streets and grows up with royalty and earns his place as a strong warrior and prince. He met a mysterious princess, joined forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time -- a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

Typhoon Basyang

Last Tuesday(Jul 13), Typhoon Basyang visited the area of Philippines and it did some damage in our area. Many of my colleagues were stranded in the office, unable to went home due to the strong wind and rain. There is a total black out on the Manila area and it took more than a day for the electricity to be restored.

From Scratch..

After a very long time I opened this account again. I removed all of the older posts that I made and I will start posting from scratch. I decided to blog because there are many things that I am learning everyday. I just want to share some of the learning that I get and the adventures of my daily life..
